Invisible and deep cleanings in hotel.

From air quality to hidden maintenance: everything we do every day to ensure a truly healthy and environmentally friendly stay.
That’s why at Borgo Grondaie invisible and deep cleanings are so important.

When people think about cleanliness in hotels, they often imagine fresh linens, spotless surfaces, and well-organized spaces.

All of this is essential, of course—but the truth is that real deep cleaning in hospitality is mostly about what you don’t see at first glance: hidden corners, filters, systems, and all those details that are often overlooked yet directly affect air quality and the well-being of guests.

At Borgo Grondaie in Siena, this philosophy is part of our DNA: cleaning must be “done properly.” We know it requires time, attention, and consistency, but we genuinely believe in it. It is also a form of respect for the people who stay with us and for the environment that surrounds us.

Air quality is our top priority

At Borgo Grondaie, we do not use centralized ventilation systems.

Many hotels rely on centralized systems with wall vents for heating or air conditioning. While these can look elegant, they are extremely difficult to clean properly.

We prefer a different solution: fan-coil units.

They may be less aesthetically pleasing, but they offer something far more important: they can be truly cleaned.

Once a month, we open them, clean them, and disinfect them.
At each seasonal change, we completely dismantle them for full sanitization.

This approach ensures a healthier environment and controlled, safe air quality—even for guests with allergies.

Bathroom exhaust fans: often overlooked in cleaning

One of the most neglected elements in hotels is the bathroom exhaust fan. These units act as real “dust collectors,” trapping dirt and debris from both inside the room and outside, along the ductwork.

At Borgo Grondaie, we treat them with the same care we give to our air systems:

  • Once a year, we completely dismantle them

  • Remove all dirt from the ducts and fan blades

  • Disinfect every component

  • Reassemble them as good as new

“Before and after” photos show just how much dirt these fans collect, and proper maintenance is essential to ensure a healthy environment for our guests.

Deep cleaning and sustainability: a concrete commitment

Talking about sustainability is easy; practicing it is much harder. For us, sustainability means making what exists last, avoiding waste and premature replacements.

A dirty exhaust fan breaks down sooner.
An unclean fan-coil unit consumes more energy.
A neglected system becomes waste far earlier than necessary.

Caring for, maintaining, and cleaning is not just hygiene: it is a sustainable choice.

It reduces waste, avoids unnecessary purchases, and decreases the amount of trash a hotel produces.

At Borgo Grondaie, we believe in cleaning that truly matters—cleaning that protects health, enhances spaces, and respects the environment.

True cleaning is not only about appearances: it is deep care, constant maintenance, and genuine attention to the details no one sees but that make all the difference.
